On the fringe
My Home Depot trip to find blocking wire substitutes wasn't successful, so I ended up blocking it on the guest bed by threading a string of yarn along all four sides and stretching it with pins. That worked well enough, but if more lace making is in the future, I think blocking wires should be too. Then there is the 144 knots to be done on the fringe...I'm gettin there!

Felting
Twice through a hot wash cold rinse was enough to felt the bag. It's quite a bit smaller than I imagined but just about bang on the pattern dimensions. Right now it's being blocked around a box to give it a nice stiff shape and a flat bottom so it will sit up on its own. I'll leave it that way for a day or two before finishing it off with the straps.
Meanwhile, I've decided I am going to finish the Florence scarf and a chenille scarf and possibly finish an old (boring) cardigan that have been incomplete for so long.

Olympic Booga Bag Blowout
Clearly, this was no challenge. The Booga bag knit up so quick and easy it can't be considered an olympic effort, so I'm just going to have to find something else to knit. Here's the bag pre-felting, which may take 3-4 washes before completion.
Did anyone actually watch the Olympic opening ceremonies? What the heck was that about? The Ferrari and fireworks I got, but the rest of it was like...huh? And I'm sorry, the Canadian athletes' outfits were so dorky, especially those hats. They should have had us Olympic knitters do the job.
